D-iD™ App

D-iD™ is the brand new way of using your mobile device for driver identification, rather than using the traditional driver tag common with most S5 tracking systems. The D-iD™ app links directly with the tracking information to determine if your mobile device is within the vehicle when driving. The system is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre.

D-iD™ App

To have access to the app you will be required to have installed a Global Telemetrics, Thatcham accredited S5 tracking system (installed on or after 1st January 2020), along with a Live subscription. Once you have downloaded the app and completed the validation process, please follow the on screen prompts whilst sat in your vehicle with the ignition on. Login to the app and then follow the process to connect your device to your vehicle. Please ensure your mobile device is paired to your vehicle’s bluetooth system before you begin.

There are two modes within the app. Automatic and Manual

Manual Mode

When set in manual mode and you drive the vehicle, the alert will be sent via a push message to your mobile device. If there is a security issue with your vehicle, you can contact the Global Telemetrics Control Centre directly from the app.

Automatic Mode

When driving, the system will only generate an alert if the app is not active in the background on your mobile device. If your mobile device has been left at home, has no signal or the battery is flat, the Global Telemetrics Control Centre will contact you and any approved contacts on your account to confirm the status of your vehicle.

D-iD is an Android/Apple App that can work instead of the driver tags. Your mobile device has to be in your possession and the app has to be active when driving your vehicle, if your mobile device is not present when driving the vehicle the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre will call you to confirm your vehicle is safe.
With the D-iD system you no longer have to carry driver tags whenever you drive your vehicle. The Driver Identification utilises your mobile device instead.
No information from the D-iD app is held on any Global Telemetrics Servers. The information is only stored on the end users handset/mobile device. For further information please view our Privacy Policy by visiting globaltelemetrics.com/terms.
The app is designed to periodically wake in the background to inform our servers it's ready and listening for new events on the vehicle. There will be some drain when this happens but it will be negligible. When the verification process starts itself this uses more battery power, because it sets off location processing, bluetooth connectivity and network connections. These all have an impact.
The app uses minimal data to operate and this is dependant on how many times the vehicle is started and driven.

Global Telemetrics will contact the customer using all means possible leaving messages and sending texts where applicable. We advise where possible for the customer to have more than one contact number for Global Telemetrics to contact.
Yes they can, however this can only be requested by the main account holder. This has to be requested in writing by emailing customerservices@globaltelemetrics.com
The app communicates with the tracking device to clarify that the customers mobile device is within the vehicle when driving. The app connects directly to the customers tracking data and confirms if the mobile device is within the same area as the vehicle.
There are two different modes within the app:

Automatic
This will only push messages through if the app activated on the mobile device is not within the vehicle when driving.

Manual
This will push a message through every time the vehicle is driven asking the end user to confirm if the vehicle safe.
